Mercury Editor – Full Featured HTML5 Editor

Mercury Editor is a fully featured editor much like TinyMCE or CKEditor, but with a different usage paradigm. It expects that an entire page is something that can be editable, and allows different types of editable regions to be specified.

It displays a single toolbar for every region on the page, and uses the HTML5 contentEditable features on block elements, instead of iframes, which allows for CSS to be applied in ways that most other editors can’t handle.

There’re many text editor out there, both free and paid. This is another free open source one. Komodo edit is a nice free open source text editor that support many languages and havs all the features that suit your work.

Komodo Edit supports PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl and Tcl, plus JavaScript, CSS, HTML and template languages like RHTML, Template-Toolkit, HTML-Smarty and Django.

This is a really nice text editor that I found recently. Editra is a full features text editor, this software can do anything that other paid and free text editor can do.

Currently the project is in the alpha development, but I have tried it and found that it works really well.

Text editor for Windows that I like is Notepad++, it’s good and open source and text editor for Mac Os X that I like is Textmate. Textmate is a popular and great text editor on mac platform.
